How To Deal

I was just browsing youtube and found a trailer of the movie How To Deal. This movie is complete based on the book Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen but a lot of things are different, so be aware. I personally think you might like the characters in the book better.

Someone Like You

Recently, I started reading the book Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen. The first two chapter of this book focuses in on the strong friendship between Scarlett and Halley. It also talks about how they met and what they went through together as little girls as they now prepare for Junior year in high school. On the very first page of the book, you learn that Scarlett's boyfriend has died while Halley was at camp. She then decides to return home so she can comfort Scarlett, who lives right accross the street from Halley. Halley then narrates the book and talks about the past and other information that is relavent for reading the rest of the book. I will continue to read the book because I am excited to see what happens next.

Emma- The End

In the final few chapters of Emma, by Jane Austen, there is at least three engagements. Two out of the three engagements were unexpected but surprisingly, the most suspected and anticipated one was between Emma Woodhouse and Mr. George Knightely. At first, Mr. Woodhouse didn't want Emma to marry Mr. Knightley because he thought it would diminish his happiness, but after someone broke into the neighboors house, he thought it would be nice to have Mr. Knightley arround. One might say that Emma has developed from the beginning of the book to the end but others argue that she has actually stepped down a bit. The reason why some say this is because instead of marring someone equal to her, she married a father figure.

Emma Becomes Clueless

Emma, (the book) was transformed into a movie in 1995. The funny thing is that most of you must be familiar with this movie. The name of the movie is Clueless and it stars Alicia Silverstone. Here is a brief summary of the movie taken from imdb.com.

Emma, Jane Austen's novel is modernised and given this very accurate title "Clueless."How vapid can one girl be? And how rich too? Or popular!! Cher can be all three things quite easily and still have perfect blonde hair and a manicure. She lives in Beverly Hills and drives a great Jeep, but doesn't exactly have her licence yet... With her best friend, Dionne, whose a sassy plastic too, she's living the high life.Or is she? She is absolutely horrified when her grades drop, but they're only negotiation grades anyway! All the other teachers give her a boost in her grades for extra work, but the stuffy debate teacher, Mr. Hall, isn't bought! As if this isn't totally puke-arific, Cher's smart and hunky ex step brother, Josh, comes to town! He is way too environment orientated for her liking, he listens to "whiney college music" and is a couch commando.A new girl, Tai, comes to school and is quickly made over by Cher and Dionne! But Tai's crush for Elton, a rich kid, is soon stomped on when he says he likes Cher!No worries her heart's mended by a good Christian Slater and ice cream.Cher is then after the pretty boy, Christian, who turns out to be gay!! So much for sending herself chocolates and showing extra skin.Cher also does a match making bit on Mr. Hall and Miss. Geist, soon her debating grades are sky high! Then Tai gets a scare from some guys at a mall, and becomes popular due to her supposed brush with death! Cher is way confused and irated when she pulgs her learners, sees Tai with Josh and starts falling for Josh herself! She then resorts to a make over of her soul and gets involved in charity work and mending the romance between Tai and the skater, Travis. But she soon learns that Josh is madly in love with her! And they kiss on the staircase!Miss. Geist and Mr. Hall get married in a white wedding deluxe.Through all the antics, the heartbreaks and the "whatevers", Cher finds true love and isn't so Clueless anymore!

Character Analysis- Emma

What is there to say about Emma Woodhouse? A LOT of things. The author describes her as "handsome, clever and rich, with a comfortable home and happy disposition.” This statement says a lot about Emma. She is a little stubborn and thinks a little too well of herself. Emma's mom died when she was very young so Emma has very few memories of her. She is very flirtatious and claims she will stay single forever. However, this dream is short lived because she then realizes that she is in love with Mr. Knightly. Mr. Knightly is a neighbour and he is also Emma's brother-in-law's brother. In other words Mr. Knightly's brother is married to Emma's sister, Isabella. There is lots more to say about Emma, but I recommend you read the book.

All about Emma

The name of the book that I am currently reading is Emma, written by Jane Austen. I chose this book because it seems like a romance novel, and I rarely read romance novels, so I'm trying something new. Another reason why I chose it is because my cousin told me Jane Austen is her favorite author and I never read a book by her. After doing some research on this book, I learned that it is a combination of mystery and romance. I hope to get (out of the book), a sense of happiness and content. The reason for this is because based on what I know about the book, I think i am going to like it. Jane Austen was born December 16th, 1775, in Hampshire, England. She was the seventh of eight children and was educated by her father. She published only four novels in her lifetime but two more were published after her death. Jane died in 1817 at the age of only forty-one. One of her most famous works is Pride and Prejudice. I am looking forward to continue reading and giving you updates on this book.
